We train and equip Christians to lead Bible Study discussion groups, facilitate recovery discussion groups, and mentor youth who are locked up in juvenile facilities, as well as provide effective aftercare models to help youth transition successfully back into the community. Our strength-based resources, curriculums, training modules, and direct ministry models help youthful offenders become all that God intended them to be. Your “contact info page” is not working.
I was wondering what States is your organization involved?
I am in Ohio and have been involved in Epiphany Ministry for 11 years (epiphanyministry.org). I think our ministry differs a little from yours – as we minister to juveniles that have been tried as adults and are serving adult sentences in maximum/minimum security prisons. My concern also is what happens to our youth that finally DO get out – and have to support from home etc. Does your ministry mentor these young people when they get out and have no where to go?
I have used some of your resource material and have enjoyed it very much.

Most of our full-time staff lives in New England, although we have a number of affiliates doing the same thing in states across the country. You can check out our website to see a map of related ministries. You raise a really important question and one that must be answered if we are going to be effective wholistically…the problem of aftercare. Most of Straight Ahead’s aftercare ministries are volunteer-based. Relationships that are built by Bible study leaders in lock-up lay the foundation for mentoring when youths return to the community. Straight Ahead has run a variety of aftercare programs over the years, including a disciple home, a Christian residential program, and currently two staff led community-based aftercare ministries where youth are mentored, discipled, receive job readiness training, and life skills support. The ministry that takes place on the inside is crucial; but there also needs to be ministry on the outside to enact life change.
